Projects

UN Environment has pioneered in advancing the concept of Inclusive Green Economy. At the global level, initiatives on Inclusive Green Economy are coordinated by UN Environment, in partnership with other UN agencies, the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Private, and Civil Society partners.

UNEP has been engaged with more than 30 countries in supporting their transition to a green economy in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East. Through its global knowledge products, country level assessments, research and advisory services, and wide-ranging partnerships within the UN system and other international organisations, UNEP is supporting these  countries through capacity building, policy reforms, and other needed support for creating an enabling environment for this transition.
