The World Conservation union has lost one of its greatest supporters since 1950, when Dr. Burhenne began a lifetime of commitment to the environment.As the founding father of the World Conservation union Commision of Environmental Law, he made an immense contribution to law, policy, as well as the development of several international agreements.
We have lost an eminent colleague and friend who, well into his late years, continued to share his experience in law and governance and his understanding of the conservation of natural resources with others. He was a visionary individual and was revered worldwide.
