The Leaders’ Luncheon on social and financial innovation for inclusive and sustainable economic transformation was held on 10 January 2019 during the third Ministerial Conference of the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) in Cape Town, South Africa.
The importance of innovation and of “business unusual” was highlighted during the luncheon. The following criteria was identified to enable innovation:
(i) leadership and governance;
(ii) openness, transparency and collaboration;
(iii) education and capacity building; and
(iv) creativity and entrepreneurship, including women and girls. More action is required to innovate and change our consumption and production behaviors and the use of business and market opportunities in an innovative way to ensure inclusive and sustainable economic transformation.
