Individual Contractor: NOWPAP Scientific and Technical Advisor (Part-time)

The overall objective of the Individual Contractor consultancy is to support the NOWPAP Regional Coordinating Unit in Toyama, Japan in the successful delivery across the three identified areas related to its core function: Specific Programme Management Tasks and Resource Mobilization. Individual Contractor reports to the NOWPAP Senior Coordinator and will closely interact with other members of the NOWPAP RCU and personnel in RACs as well as NOWPAP external partners. NOWPAP Internship (Toyama, Japan and Busa, R. Korea)

Regional Coordinating Unit of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan (NOWPAP) is seeking applications from qualified candidates for two internship positions in NOWPAP offices in Toyama, Japan and Busan, R. Korea. The NOWPAP internship is on a non-reimbursable basis and provides selected candidates with a first-hand experience working for the United Nations in the field of environmental affairs and public communication. National Consultant: Preparation of NOWPAP Special Project “Identification of key indicator species and ecosystems of biodiversity change in the NOWPAP region”

The overall objective of the consultancy is to provide national scientific and technical inputs and leadership during the Special Project preparation resulting in the coherent and technically sound project proposal. The National Consultant reports to the NOWPAP Senior Coordinator and will work closely with the NOWPAP RCU Project Manager, other national consultants, Secretariats of the four Regional Activity Centres (RACs) as well as external partners when requested.
