On this occasion of World Environment Day, UNEP is launching the Sustainable Consumption and Production Handbook, which demonstrates how governmental authorities worldwide are saving money by sustainable public procurement and resource efficiency.
World Environment Day (WED), established by the United Nations, is the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. Every year it attracts hundreds of thousands of people to events held worldwide. This year's theme, 'Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care', encourages people to rethink their lifestyles and, through conscious consumer decisions, decrease humanity's collective impact on nature's resources.
