Why EANET’s efforts are important

Since 2001, the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET) actively:

  • works with countries to build capacity for accurate monitoring of major pollutants in a variety of areas for data that is comparable across countries.
  • encourages sharing between neighbouring countries of best practices, knowledge and methods that underpin successful monitoring and control of harmful air pollutants.
  • builds public policymaker awareness of the issues of air pollution and acidification through sound, science-based knowledge.
