Biography

Jonathan coordinates the activities of UNEP Finance Initiative on REDD+ and sustainable land use in Africa where he is focusing on private sector engagement and private sector finance within the context of the development of REDD+ strategies and REDD+ investment plans. He also provides technical assistance on issues related to environmental finance and economics. He joined UNEP Finance Initiative in 2014. He previously worked as quantitative risk manager for the National Bank of Canada and Deloitte and started his career as a strategy consultant for the banking sector.

  • Zambia: Economic valuation of the potential for sustainable mining operations to reduce deforestation
  • Indonesia: Development of a business case methodology to evaluate the profitability potential of deforestation removal from palm oil supply chains for private sector actors and the implications for the Indonesian government in designing effective PAMs.
