  • UN-DESA organized a 3-day workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia on the findings of the GSDR and how these findings could be used to accelerate action on sustainable development in the region.
  • UNEP was invited, as a member of the Task Team of the GSDR, to assist with facilitation of the sessions of the workshop on the Environment Commons entry point
  • The session opened with remarks from officials of BAPPENAS (the planning ministry in Indonesia), UN-DESA and Minister of National Planning (BAPPENAS) as well as a video address from the Executive Secretary of UNESCAP.
  • This was followed by three moderated discussions:
  1. Presentations of the GSDR findings from members of the Independent Group of Scientists (IGS);
  2. Findings of the UNESCAP regional analysis on the Sustainable Development Goals;
  3. Thoughts on the science-policy-society interface by a group of experts on the subject.
