Background : The strategy for the Decade on Ecosystem Restoration was developed following an inclusive, transparent and open process. Over 2,000 comments were received from all stakeholder groups. The consultations not only showed a keen interest in the subject and enthusiasm for restoration, but also appetite by organizations to get engaged more actively. To respond to this interest and prepare for the official launch of the Decade next year, this webinar will give opportunity to engaged partners and participants to ask questions and prepare their own campaigns to mobilize broad support for the Decade.

Objective: The webinar on 15 September constitutes an opportunity to build alliances and ramp up engagement in preparation of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration’s official launch alongside UNEA-5 in February next year.

It is tailored for organizations and individuals passionate about ecosystem restoration – from implementers in the field to those funding large-scale initiatives. They will receive a first-hand introduction to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration final strategy and be equipped with the tools to not only spread the message, but become a driving force in its implementation.

Most importantly, the webinar offers the unique opportunity to ask direct questions to the representatives from FAO and UNEP that drive the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration’s implementation. It is part of a series of interactive exchanges that continue to shape the initiative.
