The Quadripartite Working Group on Youth Engagement for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is preparing a Youth Manifesto for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High Level Meeting on AMR to be held on 26 September 2024. The manifesto will be developed based on virtual consultations with young leaders working in AMR around the world and is meant to draw attention towards the priorities of young people and catalyze actions to engage the constituency to advance global AMR agenda.

Young people can play an important role in bringing the wider society and various stakeholder groups together. They can also be agents of change in society by increasing awareness about AMR and advocating for global and local solutions.

Objectives of the event

  • To formally launch and promote the Youth Manifesto for the UNGA High Level Meeting on AMR
  • To highlight the critical role that young people can play in AMR awareness and advocacy, and outline opportunities to harness the energy and imagination of youth networks in AMR action
  • To sensitize about the mandate and activities of the Quadripartite Working Group on Youth Engagement for AMR and explore avenues for collaboration
