Regional Consultative Meeting for Africa 2020

The eight special session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) will take place as below:   •    Expert session: 30 November 2020 (agenda attached) •    Ministerial session: 4 December 2020   The session will be held virtually under the theme: ‘Enhancing environmental action for effective post-COVID recovery in Africa’.   The Pre-AMCEN session for Major Groups and Stakeholders is expected to virtually take place on 26 November 2020.   The below thematic areas will be discussed during  Pre-AMCEN session for Major Groups and Stakeholders:  

1. African’s Engagement in the Fifth United Nations Environmental Assembly
2. African Perspectives on the post 2020 biodiversity framework and the Convention on Biological Diversity COP 15
3. African Perspectives on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 26
4. African Green Stimulus Programme
5. Considerations for the Ministerial Declaration
