The Global Environment Outlook (GEO) provides a comprehensive picture of the world’s environmental trends and challenges. It is a series of products that informs environmental decision-making for governments and various stakeholders, and enhances the interaction between science and policy. The Global Environment Outlook for Youth in Asia-Pacific report aims to inspire and empower students and young professionals to integrate environmental considerations in their lifestyles, occupational disciplines and professional practices. Developed by a group of young scholars from regional partner institutions, the report will be available in multiple languages.

The journey towards a sustainable world and achieving 2030 Agenda needs young generation’s leadership and actions in the frontline. With an animation and comic contest as part of the its development process, the E-book will pioneer an experiment to keep the e-book alive, and have an open window for young readers to further enrich the e-book after its release at the 3rd Environment Ministerial Forum of Asia and the Pacific in January 2019, Singapore, through a special event: UNleash the Power of Youth in Asia Pacific for SDGs.

A series of events would be organized on outreach of the GEO Youth Asia Pacific after its release.  Join us at the 2019 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability (2019 ISCES)  and share your impactful actions towards SDGs.

International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability (ISCES) has been co-organized by United Nations Environment Programme, Tongji University, Beijing Environment Foundation for Young Talents and Xinhua News Agency since 2011 in the week of June 5th, the World Environment Day. The Conference aims to provide an international platform for student and youth to raise their voice and share experience on environmental and sustainable development issues.

2019 International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability will be launched on the World Environment Day, 5th June 2019, and have inspirational dialogues on four themes: 1) Education for Sustainable Development; 2) Food and Health; 3) Ecosystem and Climate Change; and 4) Green Development. About 400 participants are expected to participate in the event and join the dialogues. The successful experience of past three years would be enriched by providing dynamic and interactive activities for participants to have insightful exchanges and communications. Also, the Conference will be beneficial to promoting awareness, capacity and networking amongst student and youth, as future leaders, policy makers and practitioners, and empowering them with the latest knowledge and creative thinking to understand the challenges in the area of environment and sustainability, and shape development models and social trends.
