Panama City, 23 August 2023 – Fourth and Sixth Grade Students of Nuestra Senora de la Merced School, El Chorilllo participated in two creative workshops to raise awareness of Ozone Layer Protection in the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) on 17 and 23 August 2023.  The workshops were organized by Panama’s National Ozone Office, Ministry of Health (MINSA) in collaboration with UNEP OzonAction Branch.

The objective of the two workshops was to raise awareness of how human activities affect the Ozone Layer and the actions taken for its recovery. These activities are leading to the celebrations of World Ozone Day in Panama. One of the highlights is Latin America’s Regional Art Contest “The Planet is Your Canvas” ceremony where winners will receive their certificates on 13 September 2023.

The presentation used the Pecha Kucha model which is a storytelling method where the presenter ‘talks less and shows more´ making the learning highly visual. The storytelling was followed by a Question and Answer session.
