Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action (MPGCA) Human Settlements Action Event The Secretariat of the Global Alliance for Building and Construction (GlobalABC) will host a session entitled "Raising Ambition: sectoral progress and achievements" within the framework of the Human Settlements Action Event from 11:00 to 12:00. This roundtable will focus on the progress made in the building and construction sector towards the objectives set by the Paris Agreement. This high-level event will allow Ministers, Mayors, and CEOs to present their vision for the sectoral priorities and ambitions in respective countries and organizations, with regard to the Nationally Determined Contributions.

Towards a joint peatland declaration: Synergies of MEAs to reverse the trend on peatland degradation This event aims to introduce the idea to develop a joint declaration or work programme to structure collaboration among relevant MEAs, with the aim to further accelerate action, and use synergies for the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of peatlands. The event will demonstrate the commitment by convention Secretariats and leading International Organisations and interest by contracting parties to work jointly on peatlands issues as an urgent an important priority by developing and supporting joint or synergistic implementation of a common declaration or work programme. Panelists
will discuss existing commitments, declarations and
resolutions in the MEAs relevant to peatlands conservation, restoration and sustainable management; identify joint priorities; and discuss ways to increase synergies and collaboration on peatlands issues across MEAs; identify next steps and seek to outline a process towards a
joint declaration or work programme; identify interested parties to take part in structuring and deepening the collaboration in connection with the Global Peatlands Initiative.
