On 16 February 2017, UN Environment organized the side event “ Achieving SDG 14 through the Regional Seas programmes from regional to global: shared seas and shared actions for the sustainability of our oceans” at the merging of the Preparatory Meeting for the Ocean Conference, which will take place on 5-9 June at the UN Headquarters in New York.
More than 60 participants attended the side event, which was co-organized by the UN Environment Regional Seas Programme and the Government of Sweden. Presentations and discussions were focused on achieving Sustainable Development Goal 14 “conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development”.
