Samantha Suffety serves as the Special Assistant to the Regional Director. She has a varied background in ecology, environmental education, and community outreach as well as event planning and communications. Before coming to UN Environment, Samantha held an internship at the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, where she contributed to the creation of the Michigan Environmental Literacy Plan and an Environmental Educator Certification program. She has also worked with a number of environmental non-profit organizations and on several ecological research projects throughout her academic career.
Samantha received her Masters of Science in Community Sustainability with a focus in Environmental Education from Michigan State University in May 2017. She also has dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Environmental Biology/Zoology and Environmental Biology/Plant Biology, also from Michigan State University, where she graduated from the Honors College.
