Nadya Hutagalung entered the international spotlight as a model aged 12. She then became a household name across Asia launching MTV Asia. Eco-activist, television host, former model and mother of three, Nadya first learnt the importance of protecting the Earth from her mother. In 2006, she founded Green Kampong, an online resource for sustainable living. For her work in championing conservation Nadya was nominated “The International Green Awards: Most Responsible International Celebrity 2012” alongside the likes of George Clooney, Penelope Cruz and Vivienne Westwood.
In 2014, she launched the Let Elephants Be Elephants campaign with a documentary to reduce the demand for ivory in Asia, the film aired on National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild. In 2015, she addressed the UN General Assembly as part of World Wildlife Day alongside Chelsea Clinton and she was the Global Ambassador for WWF’s Earth Hour for seven years. As a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador in 2017, Nadya joined Erik Solheim, Head of UN Environment and Actor Adrian Grenier in launching the global campaign - #cleanseas - and is a face of the UNs global #wildforlife campaign.
