This artwork is a metaphor for humans' action in fixing the ozone layer. The eggshell in the picture represents the ozone layer. However, the holes on the eggshell show the depletion of the ozone layer. Humans' endeavour in stopping the depletion of the ozone layer is represented by the plant. The plaster on the hole is the action of humans to recover the ozone layer. Based on UNEP's research, the ozone layer will be healed by the year 2050. Just like the title, we are looking forward to a better ozone layer in 2050.

The idea of the piece is to show the damage the sun/heat can do to the earth if our ozone is not protected. One flower is full of life and color in the shade and the other brown and dead flower is scorched by the heat of the sun. It can also have another meaning of pre and post ozone layer.

Freon gas and HFC for aircon refrigerants are the main causes of global warming through the destruction of the ozone layer. At the beginning of the hot summer, countless air conditioners operate, and many existing aging or broken air conditioners are damaged and discarded without proper procedures and attention, resulting in the outflow of Freon gas. The resulting global warming brings back even more severe heat and heat waves for people. Summer gets longer and longer, eventually adding to the vicious cycle of heat. The photo shows people suffering from severe heat even more even though numerous aircon outdoor units are running to escape the heat.
