First donor consultation of 2016 with China

UN Environment’s first donor consultation for 2016 was held last January 29th in Beijing, China. The Chinese delegation was led by Director General Li Haisheng of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), together with Deputy Director General Song Xiaozhi.

The Chinese government was pleased with the progress of the 18 projects under the China Trust Fund portfolio, despite expressing concerns over the timelines for implementation. They are keen on renewing the agreement with UNEP and look forward to the review of the three-year project.

UNEP wishes former MEP focal person Zhang Jieqing all the best in her future endeavours and will continue to work with the Ministry through their newly appointed focal person, Xia Yingxian.
