Launch of the world waste database

What: The launch of a tool for monitoring land-based marine litter sources

The global data on marine litter has been scarce and hard to put in perspective. This side event
presents the launch of the World Waste Database, which gives a systematic and comprehensive
overview about the current state of play on marine litter. The World Waste Database allows to
understand, monitor, analyze, and ultimately to tackle the problem of marine litter better.
