Kazakh pupils enjoy education session on e-waste

On 12 November 2017, KIMEP University students organized an educational session on E-waste for high-school pupils from seven schools located in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The session also covered topics on SDGs, concepts of Sharing and Green Economy. Pupils were then divided into four groups, with each tasked to discuss and present a project that could stimulate behavioural change in society in terms of responsible consumption and would result in reducing or preventing E-waste.

Some 25 pupils were awarded with certificates and five KIMEP students that had organised the session were given appreciation letters signed by the Head of UN Environment's Central Asia Office Natalia Alexeeva.

At the end, all the pupils made a commitment to participate and share information about #BeatPollution campaign and that they would organise similar educational activities in their own schools for primary school pupils.
