• Overview

It is our pleasure to invite you to the upcoming EMG Nexus Dialogue on Law for Environmental Sustainability organized in collaboration with the Law Division of UN Environment, November 19 (13:00-18:00) at the International Environment House II, Geneva, Switzerland.

The Dialogue will identify existing gaps and opportunities for strengthened collaboration among UN entities and other stakeholders to promote legal measures to implement Agenda 2030, with particular focus on its environmental dimension. During this half day event we will discuss how these entities can collaborate by building on existing successful partnerships and borrowing from good practices in other areas of law. By exploring these issues through an environmental lens, the Dialogue will encourage the implementation of Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The findings of the Dialogue will contribute to the process of developing a new phase of the Montevideo Programme, in preparation for the discussions at the fourth session of the United Nations Environmental Assembly IV in March 2019 in Nairobi and the review of SDG 16 at the High-Level Political Forum in July 2019 in New York.
