COBSEA Secretariat was requested to prepare guidance for participating countries on the establishment of COBSEA Regional Activity Centres, drawing on the experiences of other Regional Seas programmes and encompassing e.g. key steps and standard provisions including relating to the mandate, governance, institutional and financial aspects, to be presented for consideration by the Intergovernmental Meeting.
The Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA) oversees the implementation of the East Asian Seas Action Plan.
