Regional Seas Programme Annual Meeting

The 21st Global Annual Meeting of the Regional Seas Conventions and Action Plans will be held in Berlin, Germany October 3 to 5 2019. The meeting will be hosted by the Secretariat of the Helsinki Convention and will be held back to back with the Marine Regions Forum. 

The meeting will deliberate among others on progress on implementation of the Regional Seas Strategic Directions 2017-2020 and initiate dialogue for a new strategic guidance document post 2020; review progress on implementation of the voluntary commitments from the 2017 UN Ocean Conference and Regional Seas input to the June 2020 UN Ocean Conference; discuss Regional Seas’ input to the implementation plan of the new Marine and Coastal Strategy for UNEP 2020- 2030; including ways to incorporate Climate change and nature-based solutions into the Regional Seas Programme; among others.
