First meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

Government officials, experts and activists from multiple countries are coming together in Nairobi to open negotiations towards a new global framework for biodiversity. The global framework is the world’s response to the alarming trends in the state of nature, as outlined recently in the IPBES Global Assessment, the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land and many others. This framework takes a holistic approach to the multiple environmental crises facing the planet; it aims to set the world on the path towards Living in Harmony with Nature by 2050.
